We hope you like our new website. It paints a fairly broad picture in words and pictures of what we and the area have to offer.

Last year’s Exhibition went very well despite the financial gloom. It also marked our entry into the Giclee print market with a selection from my most popular paintings which are reproduced for you here in Gallery 2. This year there will be more at my Christmas Exhibition which will be held as last year in the superb Crowcombe Hall, from Saturday December 5 – Monday December 7, from 10.00 am – 5.00 pm.

My three Workshops and two Residential Courses were a great success judging by the feedback! .Some students can’t wait for next year’s programme – their words not mine! During the four day ‘Old Stagers’ we spent a wonderful day painting by a farm on Exmoor with beautiful weather. What a joy is Exmoor with its changing seasons.and varied scenery. All great fun and something of an adventure. Roll on next year!

The heavy snowfalls of February brought much of the country to its knees. I was delighted and, thanks to my good neighbour, who leant me his Land-Rover, I was able to get up on Exmoor which looked absolutely wonderful. The exercise produced a few sketches which I was able to work up into full paintings in the warmth of my studio.

I always enjoy demonstrating to Art Groups and last year I was able to share my expertise – and my love of painting – with several groups not previously visited. These provide a wonderful opportunity for getting to know other painters and to help them in a practical way.

As I am not teaching abroad this year I am available for Art Societies requiring a tutor for painting weekends or longer periods. For further information on the aforementioned please telephone us on 01984 618 343.

Two years ago I dusted off my brushes and began what turned out to be a happy return to oils. I had forgotten what a pleasure it is to mix colour! For over 30 years I painted in this medium and exhibited with the RBA, ROI and the Blackheath Gallery. Consequently there will be a few oils in my Christmas Exhibition.

Since moving to this beautiful area we have provided B&B for guests attending weddings in the village, plus ramblers, photographers, artists and bird watchers (the area is stiff with buzzards!). If you fall into any of these categories and want to know more, just give us a ring or hit the e.mail key!

That’s it for now. Wishing you Happy Painting and we look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future.
